Tthere’s something sweetly sadly naive about how we want certain people from our past life to remain who they were back when we knew them. Whether it be old romantic interests, old friends, whatever, it’s both disappointing and often shocking when we encounter them years later and TA DA! they are not the same people. Sadly too, they rarely are better than the person we knew, just older and usually disappointing for one reason or another.
